Convertri Updates – 05/05/20

I’m back from a rejuvenating week off, which was as exciting and activity-packed as you’d expect.

I knitted half a top for myself (thrilling!), watched an entire season of Bob’s Burgers in one sitting (I’d seen it before!), learned what Polybius was (a fascinating rabbit hole!), made banana bread (healthy-ish!) and drank way too much coffee for doing so little (VERY wired!).

But it’s very good to be back on the update grind. It really puts into perspective how important it is to have regular routines, even when everything else regular about the world’s been thrown out the window.

With that in mind, we have a slew of features and bug fixes this week to help you tick over.

Scroll down to find out more – and to put it all in action, just press CTRL+SHIFT+R (or CMD+SHIFT+R if you’re on a Mac.

BUGS

Headers and Footers – shared footers were not displaying at the bottom of the page in the mobile editor. We’ve added a bag of sugar for ballast, and now it’s sunk back down to where it should be.

Backgrounds – these weren’t displaying correctly in the mobile editor, and sometimes not at all on the published mobile page. We’ve cleaned up the lens, and now everything’s crystal clear.

Clickbank – when you added custom HTML for a Clickbank badge, the badge wasn’t appearing on the published page. We fixed that.

Menus – if you changed your menu’s skin, pressing Undo wouldn’t change it all back exactly. We’ve taken its artistic license away, and now clicking Undo will change back your menu skin exactly the way it was.

Layers – in the Layers dialog, the order your layers are listed is indicative of z-order, with the uppermost layers being at the top. Turns out, they weren’t displaying in order on the published page.  We re-shuffled the deck, and now your layers should be in their proper place. The layer order will be updated when you republish, so you should preview any pages with overlapping layers to make sure everything  looks the way you want.

Grid – if you enabled the grid in the Display options and scrolled halfway down the page, it may have looked a little strange. We took a hot iron to it and pressed out the creases.

Images – set any background image for your page, and the Page Builder would throw up a Mixed Content warning in Chrome’s Developer Tools and the Page Builder page would be marked as Not Secure by Chrome. We asked it to take off its rings before it walked through security again, and it’s fine.

Folders – renaming media folders sent them back to the Home folder, which made them difficult to find. We followed the breadcrumbs, and now they’re back where they belong.

Elements – enable shared headers or footers section, and you could move elements out of the page section to overlap your headers or footers. This never looked pretty, so we’ve prevented you doing that in future.

On Mouseover – properties on hover (e.g. background color) are un-undoable if trying to revert to a default value. We’ve fixed that, so now you can go back to default if you want.

Stay safe, and happy converting!

Beth
