Convertri Updates – 09/07/19

Size isn’t everything.

(Don’t listen to them giggling at the back.)

But it sure does matter to some customers, especially those who at least pretend to enjoy the fact the new iPhone can hardly fit into a double duvet cover, let alone your pocket.

I don’t know. Maybe the extra .6in allows you to see special Avengers: Endgame off-screen happenings the rest of us luddites missed, or something. Maybe Batman helped out. Who knows? Not us, not with our tiddly wee 5.97in resolution.

As a woman, size really does have an impact. I mean, it’s a cake-worthy occasion to find a skirt with any pockets at all, frankly.

But we can’t all linger in the halcyon days of 4:3 and pockets big enough to smuggle candy, a 2ltr Coke and your best friend into the cinema.

Times, they are a-gettin’ 4k.

So, to help you ring in the times, we’ve added a new feature to help you make the most out of every pixel on your customer’s screen.

And if you like countdowns, we have some news that will blow your socks off in one minute or less – this week’s update contains a whole raft of new features, designed for those urgency-inducing little numbers.

So, what are you waiting for? Just hit CTRL+SHIFT+R – or CMD+SHIFT+R if you’re on a Mac to see the new updates:

HELP DOCS

We have a brand new help doc that explains form field mapping:

Also, one about CSS:

And the new Webhooks reference doc has been edited for clarity:

FEATURES

Page Builder – when Convertri started, 960px was a sensible width for a page. Now, devices are huger, with 1280px a more common width. So we’ve given you the ability to supersize your pages by moving the blue guidelines: just click on Display in the top toolbar to do so. (As always, you can make your pages as long as you want, but now you can make them wider.)

Countdowns – now you can set your countdown timers to less than one minute! This is perfect on a thank you page for instance, when you need to give them enough time to absorb their message, but also need to send them to the next page in your funnel as quickly as possible.

Countdown Delay – there will be times when times when you don’t want your returning prospect seeing a new timer if they’ve visited the page very recently. Now, you can set a delay to when the timer resets, and make it as long as you want.

Countdown Restart – you can now create countdown timers that restart every hour, which will be perfect for your auto-webinar funnels. Don’t miss out on that urgency and forget manually resetting the timer – now it’ll do it for you!

Mobile Editor – sometimes, you could ‘lose’ an element when you switched between desktop and mobile modes, especially on long pages or when elements were hidden. It was pretty frustrating. Now, the view will automatically focus in on your selected element when you switch modes, and a message will pop up if it’s hidden to explain what’s going on.

Nameservers – setting up subdomains can be frustrating if you’re new to the experience, so we’ve made it easier. Now you can’t add subdomains on nameservers by accident (which won’t work anyway), and if you try to do so we’ll guide you to creating a Convertri subdomain instead (which is a far better idea).

Parameters – this little bit of sorcery lets you add parameters to your buttons via a toggle in its Properties panel. This can help you track conversions from different traffic sources. For example, if your sales page is at myproduct.com/product1, and the Buy button links to myproduct.com/checkout, and you send traffic to this page from Facebook with a link like myproduct.com/product1?utm_source=facebook, when your visitors clicks the Buy button they’ll be taken to myproduct.com/checkout?utm_source=facebook.

BUGS

No bugs this week… but did you know that honey bees have fine hairs on their eyes that help pick up and transfer more pollen, tell the direction of the wind and detect the humidity in the air?

Happy converting!
