Convertri Updates – 01/08/23
Good morning/afternoon/evening, Convertri-ers!
This week, we’ve been reworking the back end of our modal checkout skins. It sounds a bit NSFW, but what this actually means is that the cart update I told you about next week has spurred us on to do a lot more spring cleaning around the place.
We’ve started off by revamping a couple of checkout skins, which will now work perfectly with our new Add to Cart system, and we’ve also got a lot of help doc updates to help you keep things running smoothly.
This also means the Classic checkout theme has now been retired, and we assume it’s sunning it up and sipping cocktails on a lovely beach somewhere.
Check out the rest of the updates, and let us know what you think!
FEATURES
Checkout addresses – in both the Fresh and 2-Step checkout theme, you would have had to choose “Not in the US” from the State dropdown if the address wasn’t in the United States, which wasn’t a great experience. We’ve updated the State field so it will only show if the user picks the United States as their country.
Checkout payments – if you entered your card info then clicked PayPal, you’d have to enter all your info again, which was a bit of a headache. Now, only the button for the chosen payment system will now be shown, rather than having both credit card and PayPal buttons.
Fresh checkout – we’ve given it a bit of a revamp, which means it’s now faster and sleeker and works just a little bit better. We’ve removed the lateral bar Buy button for a better focus, and other elements have been moved around for better mise en place. We’ve also moved the subscription consent box to keep everything the buyer needs to do in one linear flow.
2-step checkout – as with Fresh, it’s enjoying a little bit of a rearrange and some speedy back-end improvements. The item breakdown has been shifted to below the payment info, rather than at the top of step two, so the user isn’t distracted while entering their details. Also, the Discount lin will no longer be shown if there’s no discount being applied to the product.
BUGS
New page from scratch – if you created a new page from scratch, these might not have opened in the Editor. We’ve fixed this now.
Store checkout – when the Open Checkout button was used, some ‘Name’ fields used on the page may not have been passed on to populate the checkout. We’ve fixed the issue.
