Convertri Updates – 26/07/22

It’s all in a name.

Specifically, your first and last one, versus your full name.

Same thing on paper, but when it comes to forms, it’s useful to have a choice. That’s why this week, we’ve added a feature that gives you more control over how your form respondents can enter their name.

We’ve also made more improvements to forms, with the ability to customise your “sending form” overlay message. Write whatever you like! (Note: we are not liable if you put in any swearwords.) Also, we’ve added a range of pre-set button styles for you to choose from.

Plus, there’s more updates from the Facebook group, bug fixes, and more.

As always, let us know what you think, and we hope you have a great week.

FEATURES

Button styles – you’ll find a new tab in the Properties panel for Button Appearance when you select your button form inputs. Here, you’ll be able to choose from a range of pre-set styles which are fully adjustable, so you can make your buttons look exactly the way you want.

Modal checkouts – you can now use First Name and Last Name fields in the modal checkout as an alternative to Full Name. This is good because some third party services such as Thinkific, which you can connect via Zapier, require both first and last names.

Form submission – when a user submits your form, an overlay appears on the page which says “Sending form”. That’s a bit boring, and it might not fit your personality or branding tone of voice: so, you can now customise this text in the Page menu. Just click on Page in the top toolbar, then Messages in the left hand menu to enter the text you want displayed while your form is submitting.

Text – “kerning” is the amount of space between each letter in a word, and words on the page. We had to learn that to implement our newest text feature, which lets you adjust character spacing in your text elements. Find it in the More text settings menu.

BUGS

Scripts – the script that passes URL parameters on for links can be included multiple times in the main page, plus shared header and footers. It’s likely this never caused an issue, but it could have aesthetically affected pages with shared headers and footers. We’ve fixed it, and if you really, really want double or triple parameters, just create a shared header and/or footer with a link that passes parameters, and then include it on a page that does the same.

Form widget – when checking the Cart section, the recurring amount is subtracted from the initial payment of a product then the difference is tagged as a discount. It’s not a discount, so we fixed it.

And on this day in history, the U.S. Postal Service was established by the Second Continental Congress in 1775, with Benjamin Franklin named as the first postmaster general. Prior to this there were no post offices in the colonies, and letters were left at inns and taverns, which was a fantastic excuse for a cheeky pint. 247 years later we still love reading our messages over a drink or two, but we now use the wifi at the coffee shop and they arrive a lot faster.
