Coupons Lead to 48% More Revenue – Here’s How to Set Them Up in Convertri

According to the latest stats, emails containing coupon codes have a 48% increase in revenue per email.

Digital coupon redemption will apparently surpass $90 billion by 2022, following considerable effort being put into making coupon redemption easier and faster on mobile.

This is no surprise, really – everyone loves a deal. It gives consumers the warm fuzzies to apply a coupon code or achieve some kind of saving, even if the reality of that saving is merely an illusion.

For example, recent surveys from RetailMeNot found that 80% of shoppers feel encouraged to make a first-time purchase with a new-to-them brand if they were presented with an offer or discount. Not only that, but they also discovered that two-thirds of shoppers have made a purchase they weren’t originally planning to make – just because they stumbled upon a coupon or discount.

Be honest. How many times have you bought something just because you had a coupon or found a saving?

Both of these are textbook accounts of coupons increasing the perceived value of items so you buy more than you need. Another example of this phenomenon is coupons that offer rewards when customers buy in bulk, such as “buy three, get one free” or “25 percent off when you buy four”.

Yes, there is a real discount involved in these deals, but the core idea stands: people will buy more than they originally meant to just to receive a discount.

(I’m sure at one point, we’ve all bought food that went mouldy or spoiled at the back of the cupboard simply because it was so cheap to buy more than we needed. We never learn.)

Enough statistics – how do you apply coupons to your products and offers in Convertri? Look no further: here’s how.

How to Use Product Coupons in Convertri

  1. Go to the ‘Cart’ section of Convertri.
  2. Select ‘Coupons’ from the left had menu
  3. Click ‘Create New’ and then give your Coupon a name. You can also chose a coupon ID, which will be added to the link for your coupon. Or you can leave it blank and one will be generated for you.
  4. Then on the left hand side of the coupon menu, select ‘Product’. From here you can chose whether you want to apply your coupon to a product or not.
  5. Then select your product / product group from the dropdown list.
  6. Then click on ‘Amount’ on the left hand side. Here you can select whether you want a fixed amount, so for example you might want $5 to be the discount, no matter how much your product costs. Or you can chose a percentage discount which will change depending on the cost of your product.
  7. Then click ‘Create’.
  8. You can then click ‘Generate Link’ to create a coupon link.
  9. Now select the funnel and page that you want the coupon to be applied.
  10. Then you can copy the link to your clipboard in just one click. If you follow the link and open the checkout on the page that you applied the coupon to, you will see that the discount has been applied.
