October Update

October Update

A wee bit late – but here’s a roundup of everything that’s been happening here at Convertri HQ in October!

First off, the Facebook Conversion API is now finished. This means that you will now get far more accurate conversion data to your Facebook ads, because browsers can’t block Conversion API events.

When you integrate Facebook, Convertri will send Lead and Purchase events. You’ll need to configure your domains on Facebook, but won’t need to do anything on the Convertri side – it all happens through some kind of coding sorcery I cannot explain, but which works a treat.

Meanwhile, the brand new funnel designer is almost here. It will allow you to design entire sales funnels with a birds-eye view of all moving parts, not just the ones you can build in Convertri – autoresponders, webinars, traffic, all of it.

You’ll be able to:

  • Model results

  • Run simulations

  • Add page elements such as opt-ins, sales pages, thank yous and upsells

  • Add project conversion rates

  • Add traffic sources for more in-depth modelling

  • …And so much more.

We’re not saying it predicts the future, but… it’s the closest we’ve ever seen. Soon, pre-launch worries will soon be a thing of the past.

And finally, we made big updates to the forms widget. You can now add bump sales, for making a little extra money with add-on products, as well as dynamic cart information. The cart info  will show total price, shipping, discounts and tax for their cart on the page for the product. Previously this was only possible via the modal checkout, so we hope this is really useful for you. We’ve also added radio buttons and an address input set, as well as the ability for different steps of the multi-step form to have different headings.

Thank you so much to our intrepid feature testers, who’ve put these new upgrades through their paces and given us amazing ideas for new features!

Check out everything that’s new below:

FEATURES

Facebook Conversion API – now, when you integrate this, Convertri will send Lead and Purchase events for all custom domains. Lead will be sent whenever someone signs up through a Convertri form API, and Purchase will be sent whenever someone buys a product through your cart. You’ll still need to set up your domains on Facebook to receive those events from the API.

New templates – as part of the upcoming Funnel Designer release, we’re revamping a lot of our old templates. With the Lead Gen template, we’ve built it out into a full theme suite, complete with mad-lib copy templates to make it even easier for you to insert your copy and get your pages live quicker.

The theme contains 20 pages:

  • Application – to collect applicants’ details

  • Checkout – a working checkout page

  • Article – for written content

  • Video – for visual content

  • Delivery – to deliver a product or download link

  • Downsell – to give prospects a cheaper option

  • Opt-in (single) – a normal opt-in for a newsletter, for example

  • Opt-in (video) – an opt-in with space for a video

  • Opt-in (waitlist) – for opting in for an offer that’s not live yet

  • Opt-in (2-step) – a two step opt in for greater conversions

  • Thank you – to thank your customers for signing up

  • Webinar replay – so your customers can watch the webinar again

  • Webinar registration – a sign-up form for your next webinar

  • Upsell (coaching) – offer a coaching or consulting package

  • Upsell (membership) – offer an extra membership product

  • Upsell (software upgrade) – let customers upgrade their software in one swoop

  • Sales page (software) – sell your software product

  • Sales page (info) – sell an infoproduct

  • Sales page (VSL) – sell your product or service with video

  • Sales page (book) – promote your next bestseller

Bump Sales – bump sales are now available in the forms widget. These are great for making a bit of extra money per sale.

Radio Buttons – we’ve also got radio buttons now available in the forms widget. You can use these for single choice options in your forms.

Address Blocks – we’ve added address blocks as an input type in the form widget, which means you can create billing and delivery address fields without inserting loads of different inputs.

Cart information – you can now choose to display dynamic cart information in the forms widget, so your customer can see their cart total, shipping, discounts and tax before they check out.

Multi Step Forms – you can now add your own tab headings for each step in your multi step forms using the form widget. Thanks to our feature testers for suggesting this feature!

BUG FIXES

Checkout – when switching between recurring and non-recurring in the product setup it was possible to put things in a state that made the checkout stop working. We’ve closed that loophole, so things should always work as they need to.

Facebook Comments – this is an update from Facebook, not us. If you’re in the European Region, comments will not show up for you unless you are logged into your Facebook account and have provided consent to the “App and Website Cookies” control in Facebook’s cookie consent dialog box. As long as you – and your users – fulfil these conditions, the Facebook comments element should reappear for you.

Tooltips – tooltips which appear when you hover over a page link in the page analytics were partially hidden behind the left hand toolbar. You’ll be able to see them better now.

Sending forms – if you had a form on your page and you republished the page or created a new one with a form and published it, then pressed the Submit button, the “sending form” overlay that tells you the form is being sent might not have appeared. We’ve fixed that now.

Page names – if your page name was very long  it caused some functions such as “rename” to get cut off and appear hidden on the page card menu. We’ve now truncated long names with an ellipsis.

Analytics – the analytics page for a funnel may have not shown any stats or empty numbers, when page analytics were showing there were conversions. We’ve fixed that now.

Canonical links – if a page was published with a blank path, or its path was different to the Convertri page name, its Convertri page name may have been picked up in the page’s source and turned into the URL for the page. So, if you had a page whose title was John’s Home Page at http://john.convertri.com/home, its canonical link would be picked up as http://john.convertri.com/johns-home-page and that would be wrong. We’ve fixed it now.

Page titles – when you’ve not set a page title in the Page dialog, the URL of the page was being used as the title when actually, it should be what’s given on the page card. We’ve fixed that.

Facebook – your page’s meta data may not have been picked up when you shared a page on Facebook. We’ve fixed that now.

Autowebinars – the dates for the next available autowebinar in the “select a showing”  dropdown menu were… incorrect. In fact, they weren’t in the future. We’ve bashed the flux capacitor with a hammer so it shouldn’t happen again.

HTML elements – if you added an HTML element that contained a HTML comment, this may have broken scripts set not to run on page load. We’ve fixed this, so you can now comment to your heart’s content.

Registration forms  – autowebinar registration forms were sometimes redirecting people to the wrong pages. We’ve given them new compasses, so they should be fine now.

Carousels – these were sometimes showing the wrong number of indicators for the images they contained. We’ve fixed that.

Animated play buttons – ‘Animate play button’ may not have worked with a video URL, even though it worked for videos hosted on Convertri. We’ve fixed that.

Countdowns – if you set the countdown timer to “at set times”, your autowebinar countdowns might not have appeared on published pages. We’ve fixed that now.

WEBINARS
