Convertri Updates – 30/03/21

Big news this week – we’re introducing the new product variant feature!

It will let you do awesome things like sell a t-shirt where the user can choose size and colour – could you do this before? Actually, yes. But you had to use product groups, include every possible combination of product and variant, and have everything in one massive selection box…

…It was not an elegant solution.

But now, with product variants, all you need to do is specify your variants for a product and add a dropdown field to your page (or more than one, e.g. for colour and size) and let your buyer choose the combination they want.

In other news, we have a very special event happening soon – the very first Convertri Summit!

Running from 6th – 8th April, the event will be run by Daren Baysinger, Eric Mulford and Jim Rigney. Our very own Dan Rahilly will also by joining the event as a guest presenter to present a short segment on days 1 and 2.

When you attend, you’ll discover:

  • How to build memberships
  • How to build your client portfolio
  • How to scale your digital business
  • How to design websites that converts visitors to cash

…And a heck of a lot more.

It’s going to be so much fun. You in? Register for the event here:

Finally, we’ve also got the Getting Started webinar live on Thursday 1st April this week, at 11am EST.

Yes, it’s April Fool’s Day. But we’ve got nothing planned… promise. (At least, nothing they’ve told ME about.)

And because of that pesky ol’ Daylight Savings time, that means it’ll be 4pm for you guys in the UK. But hey, at least the days are getting longer, right?

Register for the Getting Started webinar here:

And don’t forget, if you’re using Convertri right now make sure you force refresh the app by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+R (or CMD+SHIFT+R if you’re on a Mac) to check out  what’s new this week.

FEATURES

Product variants – when you set up or edit a product, you can now specify product variants for colour, size, or anything you need. This can be used with both on-page and modal checkout.  If the user picks a variant before clicking the ‘open checkout’ button, the right variant will be in the cart.

NOTE ON THIS FEATURE: If you add variants to an existing product, you’ll need to add a dropdown box for each variant available to all of the pages selling that product, or the checkout won’t work. Paypal works fine with modal checkouts when the product has variants, but you cannot currently use PayPal with on-page checkout if the product has variants.

Variant reorganization – we’re also giving you the ability to reorder product variants in your dropdowns, both with the new product variant feature as well as the older method of adding variants by product groups.

Checkout data – we’re now allowing you to pass on data from the modal checkout, as well as standard forms. You’ll find a new toggle in the modal checkout which, when you turn it on, will pass any data on to the next page, so you can personalise your thank yous.

BUGS

Query strings – parameters passing in weren’t working for multi-line text elements. We’ve fixed it.

Scripts – if you added a script to a page and published it, the script would appear to activate and take effect… but when you back out of the page, go to a different funnel and back again,  it shows a “page needs to be published for scripts to take effect” error. We’ve fixed it.

Stay safe, and happy converting!
