On this day in 1947, an “alleged” UFO crashed in Roswell, New Mexico.

On the incident’s Wikipedia page, it’s described as a “a United States Army Air Forces balloon” from Project Mogul. But witnesses say it was an alien craft, complete with a body which was subsequently given an autopsy, and the controversy has remained ever since.

And did you know the Pentagon quietly released videos taken by Navy pilots of unidentified flying objects back in April?

I have no way to tie that in with this week’s email, but I thought you should know. #TheTruthIsOutThere

Back on earth, we have some revamps for you – including a help doc update and a page template refresh. We’ve also updated a couple of our video features, so you can more easily spread the word about any cigar-shaped hovering metallic objects you may or may not capture on film…

And if you happen to spot a bug, do us a favour – don’t give it sugar water, just report it to our men in black and they’ll squash it. You won’t even remember it happened.

FEATURES

Video elements – videos had weird, inconsistent aspect ratios when added to Convertri. Now, they’ll all be added in cinematic 16:9.

Background videos – the mute switch for these was ‘on’ by default, but as our users most often wanted it on instead, we’ve changed the default state to ‘off’.

We’ve updated these page templates to make use of all our new features:

BUGS

Desktop-only – in edge cases some desktop-only elements may cause glitches by being rendered on mobile. We fixed it.

Collections – some collections were being shown on mobile, even if you set them not to. This has also been fixed.
