Convertri Updates – 1/5/18

Calling Justin Timberlake, all Star Wars fans, and everyone hoping to reach the EU market:

It’s gonna be May.

(…The force be with you.)

Coming into force on May 25th, GDPR is looming on the far horizon like some big Sasquatch of legislation.

But we’re not some macho hunters out to kill the beast or use C-40 to blow up its swamp. Consider us more like peaceful mountain guides – here to connect you with its spirit so both can live in harmony.

After all, like ogres, onions and the Page Builder, GDPR has layers.

So, that’s why we’re all about making Convertri a whole lot easier to navigate – not just for yourselves, but for your customers who are concerned about their data privacy.

To do that, the GDPR update will include a brand new part of our site: app.convertri.com/mydata. Anyone can visit when it’s live, enter their email and confirm it’s theirs by clicking a link in the confirmation message. Once they do that, they’ll be able to:

  • Take a look at the data we hold about them
  • Edit or update some of it
  • Remove some or all of it, except the data we’re legally required to hold on to (e.g. when a purchase has been made, because we always keep receipts)

So we’re all kept nice and safe, and there’s no nasty surprises.

You can expect that update on May 15th, but until then we’ve got a bit more to show you. So remember, folks: if you’re using Convertri right now, you’ll need to force-refresh (CTRL + SHIFT + R, or CMD + SHIFT + R if you’re on a Mac) your browser to see what’s new.

CONTENT CORNER

Taking a short break this week, but we’ll return with more adventures soon.

HELP DOCS

We’ve made a few updates to the Knowledgebase, including more detail on adding a custom domain and integrating Namecheap. Also, in the wake of the latest Chrome update, we’ve added notes on autoplaying in the tutorials on video embedding.

We also have a couple of brand new help docs for you:

  • How to Restore Page Versions – for when you need to go back in time
  • How to Add a Custom 404 Page – for when your visitors need to go elsewhere

…And you can find all those and more at http://help.convertri.com

Adventure (thank you) – just to round off the experience.

BUGS

A storm brews overhead. Crouching in the bushes outside Convertri HQ, our dev team are waiting, watching. Armed with code and 80’s style hacking abilities, they know only one thing: more bugs will come. For now, they rest.

Until next week,
