Pizazz!
Try not to blink this time…
Pyiingg! Zorp!
As if the ghost of Adam West’s Batman had gifted us his stylishly camp fight noises, Convertri HQ is ringing with the sounds of onomatopoeic awesomeness this week as we release an update that makes Convertri even faster.
Yeah. Faster.
I didn’t think it could be done, either. But our dev wizards have found a way.
Depending on where you are in the world, you’ll be seeing vast improvements…
…Everywhere else, you’ll be getting the same ol’ top of the range, lightning-quick service.
If you think you can keep up with the page load speed, press CTRL+SHIFT+R – or CMD+SHIFT+R if you’re on a Mac – to see this week’s updates in super-fast motion:
FEATURES
CDN – light travels quick… but now, light’s got a rival. The Convertri Content Delivery Network (CDN) serves our pages to viewers, and it was already fast. Previously, it was based across multiple highly-optimised servers based in the US. This was great for a lot of customers, but it did mean people in New York were served pages quicker than people on the other side of the world… which was not ideal. So, our latest upgrade sees us opening new edge nodes (I had to Google what those were) in Europe and Asia: this means your pages are stored in multiple global locations, slashing page load speeds by up to a full ‘nother second depending on where you are in the world.
That might not sound like much… but just a 100ms checkout page speed increase boosted Mobify’s annual revenue by $530,000.
And sites that load in 5 seconds see viewers staying on the page 70% longer than pages that load in 19 seconds or more.
Not to be sniffed at, eh?
Remobilize Layers – you can now remobilize individual layers, so you don’t have to risk losing a ton of work every time you make a change. The Remobilize button in the Mobile view of the Page Builder is now a dropdown menu, so you can choose only to remobilize the currently active layer.
Page templates [PRO] –
No templates this week, as our designers are busy putting together a brand new collection called Words. Stay tuned for the first look next Tuesday!
BUGS
Campaign Refinery – if you were using Campaign Refinery and didn’t have any tags, you might have gotten a message saying your API key was faulty. This has now been fixed.
Happy converting!
