Convertri Updates – 09/04/24
Happy Tuesday lovely people!
It’s your weekly fix of Convertri updates and industry news here.
What’s in store for you in this episode? Well, we’ve got more dark rumblings from the world of SEO – it’s never all rainbows and sunshine by any means, but lately it has seemed more effort than usual to stay on top of it. Don’t look away, though, because now is the time to remain vigilant: there’s a new (old) scam out there that wants your backlinks… find out more when you read on.
Meanwhile we’ve got some bug fixes for you here at Convertri, and there’s a brand new webinar on the horizon: one that, if you want to set up an ecommerce business in 2024, you won’t want to miss.
Without further ado, let’s dive on in!
NEWS
An old SEO scam involving fake website owners demanding backlinks has resurfaced with the advent of AI… arm yourself with knowledge by reading more in this article from Engadget: https://www.engadget.com/an-old-seo-scam-has-a-new-ai-generated-face-100045758.html
Meanwhile, over in the Facebook group, Alexa explains the difference between an element link and a text hyperlink: https://www.facebook.com/groups/convertri/posts/3461686557308683/
And on this day, we’re celebrating the birthday of Eadweard Muybridge, a British photographer born on 9th April 1830, who was noted for his pioneering work in photographic studies of motion. Muybridge’s most famous experiment was requested by railroad magnate Leland Stanford in 1872, when he hired Muybridge to prove that at one point, a trotting horse lifts all four hooves off the ground. The project was briefly interrupted while Muybridge was being tried for the murder of his wife’s lover. You can find plenty of photos of trotting horses – and hopefully none involving infidelity – in our Pixabay integration, which you can find out more about here: https://help.convertri.com/article/242-how-to-add-images-from-pixabay
BUG FIXES
Orders – if you have a moderate or larger customer base, you may have found the Orders screen was timing out while loading. We’ve fixed the issue, so now it can handle even the most successful of users. Congratulations!
Country codes – when you add a phone field and toggle the country code field to on, the country codes may now have shown up, or only partially shown. We’ve bumped them up a bit so you can now see them fully.
WEBINAR
On Thursday 2nd May, we’ve got a very exciting webinar coming up – presented in partnership with the HeyCreator team, our expert Dan and others will show you how to start an ecommerce business from scratch with the marketing powerhouse combo that is Convertri and ThriveCart. More details to follow, so keep your eyes peeled in the Facebook group and these weekly updates to find out how you can grab your seat to this free event.
Happy converting!
